About us

The TyneMet Basketball League has been a proud part of the North East basketball community since the 1960s and has grown into one of the biggest basketball leagues in the region, with more than 400 registered members. For generations, the league has provided players and clubs with the opportunity to compete, develop and enjoy basketball in a supportive and competitive environment.

Today, we continue that proud tradition by bringing clubs and players together from across the region, supporting the development of players, coaches, officials and volunteers, and creating opportunities through league competition, tournaments and development programmes. While respecting our history and the foundations on which the league was built, our ambition is to continue growing, raising standards and developing basketball across the North East for future generations.
